We envision a dedicated maternity resource center built on these four pillars:

Move

Fitness Classes for Pregnancy & Postpartum

Programs that promote physical health and wellness, such as our donation-based prenatal and postnatal yoga classes, offered through a partnership with Project Yoga Richmond, and other fitness programs specifically designed for pregnant and postpartum women.

Learn

Education for Expecting & New Parents

Programs in evidence-based childbirth preparation, informed decision-making, nutrition for the childbearing and early parenting years, breastfeeding classes – all the many factors that parents encounter as they chart their course through pregnancy, birth and early parenting.

Connect

Social Support & Access to Resources

Faciliated peer support groups where community members at different stages of pregnancy and postpartum can come together to learn with and from each other. We plan to build a curated online resource directory to help parents and professionals connect to the pregnancy, birth, and early parenting resources in the Richmond Metropolitan Area and on the web.

Inspire

Community Engagement & Professional Development

Collaboration is central to our mission. Whether it’s raising community awareness about the importance of breastfeeding or providing continuing education opportunities for childbirth and early parenting professionals, we hope to inspire – and be inspired by – positive conversation and action. We’d love your input and support as we establish the ground floor of our organization.
